As of 2025, the United States has approximately 5,400-5,426 data centers, making it the country with the most data centers worldwide. The US accounts for about 45% of all data centers globally.
The exact number varies slightly between sources depending on what qualifies as a “data center” and when the count was taken – but mainly AI.

The US has ten times more data centers than China and most European countries
Northern Virginia leads with over 11,000 megawatts of power supply, with Ashburn known as “Data Center Alley”
